Atlantic Breeze (non-alcoholic cocktail)

A cold citrus drink just feels right on a hot South Texas day. This recipe takes inspiration from the bright, refreshing orange soft drinks loved throughout Portugal and Portuguese communities and brings that tradition straight to the Gulf Coast.
Fresh orange and lemon juice are combined with honey, fresh mint, and sparkling water for a drink that is crisp, citrusy, lightly sweet, and incredibly refreshing.
Portugal brings the citrus and tradition. The Southern Gulf Coast of Texas brings the laid-back spirit. Avô’s Eats brings them together.
Serve it ice-cold at a backyard cookout, alongside grilled seafood, or whenever the Texas heat calls for something refreshing.
3 Large Oranges
1 Large Lemon
1/4 Cup of Honey
Handful of chopped Fresh Mint
56oz of Sparkling Water
Juice the citrus. Juice 3 large oranges and 1 large lemon. Pour all of the juice into a 1-quart pitcher.
Add the flavor. Stir in the honey and add the fresh mint leaves.
Add the sparkle. Slowly pour in the sparkling water. Stir gently but thoroughly until the honey has completely dissolved and is evenly mixed throughout the drink.
Chill. Place the pitcher in the refrigerator and chill for at least 30 minutes. This gives the mint time to infuse its fresh flavor into the citrus.
Serve. Give the drink a gentle stir before serving. Pour over ice and garnish with a fresh mint sprig or an orange slice, if desired.
